Test the desktop shell
Run the Rust and boot-page suites, validate the release config, then verify the installed artifact on each target OS.
Setup and configuration
The desktop package has two layers of automated checks: the boot page is syntax-checked, and the Rust suite covers URL resolution, the navigation gate, deep links, updater channels, zoom persistence, and window preferences. Both run on your computer without a packaged installer, so start here before installing a build.

node apps/desktop/scripts/check-release-config.mjsImplementation workflow
check-release-config.mjs validates the public app URL, the HTTPS updater endpoint with the version token, the public key, and the product identifier. Run it before every release build so a placeholder config fails locally instead of shipping.
Verification and troubleshooting
Install the built artifact on each target OS and verify the tray, the summon shortcut, Always on Top, Start Minimized, Close to Tray, an update check, the offline banner, and session persistence. Unit tests prove the rules; only the installed app proves the window.
